The cartridges supplied in the kit are refillable and they have Auto resettable chips. They can be used many times. Order cleaning fluid when required for filling the cartridges for further use.
How to use the kit.
- Fill each cartridge, or just the colour cartridge of the colour that is blocked, with cleaning fluid supplied with the kit.
- There is a trace dye in the cleaning fluid to help you see when the sponge is full and the fill chamber is at least half full.
- Leave the cartridge to stand for 5 minutes after filling and then remove the cartridge cradle to insert into the printer.
- Run 2 cleaning cycles and then leave the printer to stand for 4 hours or overnight, preferably.
- This time is required for the cleaning fluid to gently break down any dried ink particles blocking the print nozzles.
- Re-insert your ink cartridges into the printer, perform a head cleaning cycle once or twice and print a nozzle test.
- If all is good, ok. If not perform the cleaning fluid cycle again until the printhead clears.
Don't forget to refit the cartridge cradles to the cartridges after use. Store until required again

A simple, easy to use solution to assist you in clearing dried ink that can block printer head printing nozzles that can cause poor quality prints. The kit can also be used as a maintenance kit when storing your printer for a short while.
The Cleaning Kit consists of
- 5 empty PGI-520 & CLI-521 refillable cartridges, a single cartridge for each colour
- A 100ml bottle of head cleaning fluid. (Additional head cleaning fluid for future use is available from the store)
- A 10ml syringe with a blunt needle for filling the cartridges
Use this kit when your prints show signs of deterioration that can not be cleared or improved by performing a head cleaning cycle. When this situation occurs, perform a nozzle print test. If the test shows broken or incomplete lines, perform a head cleaning cycle and print another nozzle test. If no improvement and broken lines are still present in the nozzle test, this cleaning kit should help.
For Printers not Used for a While
If your printer has been stored with ink in the heads for several months or unused for a while, this kit may take a while to be effective. In some instances, you may need assistance. If that is the case contact us and we will do our best to assist you.
